Lavender oil can be used in a variety of ways to create your own natural personal care products. For a deodorant, mix a 2% solution (12 drops per ounce) of lavender oil with water in a small spritzer spray bottle. Add a few drops of botanical/castile soap to help the oil and water mix, and use as you would any spray deodorant. The solution should be unfiltered, undiluted, and unadulterated for the best result.

To create a lavender-scented shampoo, simply add a few drops of lavender oil to your existing shampoo bottle, then stir or shake well. This will leave your hair with a fresher scent and your scalp feeling clean and conditioned.

For other topical applications such as masks or leave-on body products, different dilution rates are recommended. A 1% or less dilution is best for rinse-off products, a 2% dilution for massages and leave-on items, and a 3% dilution for other bath and body products.

To create a relaxing shower experience, sprinkle a few drops of lavender oil on the floor or walls of the shower, away from the direct water stream. The heat and steam will vaporize the lavender, providing a calming effect. In contrast, peppermint oil would be more stimulating in this application.

When adding lavender oil to your bath, combine 5-10 drops with the running water, along with a small amount of bath soap to help the oil and water mix.

For a soothing foot bath, create a 2% lavender oil solution in warm water. Add a few drops of botanical or castile soap, and if available, some Epsom salts. Soak your feet for 5-10 minutes, then gently brush around the cuticles and nails with a soft brush.

To make your own lip balm or hand cream, mix a few drops of lavender oil per teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil, warming the coconut oil slightly to aid in the blending process.

For a facial cleansing routine, brew a strong cup of your favorite herbal tea, such as chamomile. In a separate container, combine 1/4 cup of liquid castile soap, 1/2 teaspoon of a light carrier oil (like olive or rosehip), 10 drops of tea tree oil, and enough of the herbal tea to make a total of 4 ounces. You can also add a few drops of vitamin E oil if desired. Mix well and place in a small pump or dispenser bottle. Use this solution to work up a lather on a wet washcloth, then gently cleanse your face and rinse.

All the ingredients mentioned are 100% natural, vegan, and cruelty-free, with no sulfates, parabens, or phthalates. The products are bottled in the USA.
